How do I install GB WhatsApp?

Do I need to change Android security settings?

Is there a version for iPhone?
No. The app is distributed as an Android APK, and iOS does not support installing apps this way. Be cautious of any site claiming an iPhone version.
Does it work on tablets or PC emulators?
It is built for Android phones. Tablets and emulators may work in some cases, but phone verification and performance are not guaranteed there.

Troubleshooting
The app will not open or keeps crashing. What should I try?

I cannot verify my phone number.
Confirm the number and country code, check signal and that SMS or calls are not blocked, and wait before retrying. Too many attempts can trigger a temporary lock. If you see a message saying you need the official app, your account has been restricted and the official app is the only supported option.

Is GB WhatsApp safe?
We cannot guarantee that. It is modified by third parties, so you cannot assume the same security and privacy guarantees as the official app. If privacy matters most, the official app from Google Play is the safest-supported choice.

Are my messages end-to-end encrypted?
The official app uses end-to-end encryption that WhatsApp documents publicly. We cannot verify what any third-party build does with your data, so do not assume the same protection applies.
What permissions should I review?
Check contacts, storage, microphone, camera and notifications under Android's app permissions screen and grant only what you use. Review them again after every update.

Where do I download the file?

How do I know the file I downloaded is complete?
Compare the size on your phone with the size listed for that version on the versions page. A much smaller file usually means an interrupted download.
Where can I find older versions?
The version archive lists earlier releases with their dates, requirements and changelogs. Older builds may not work with current messaging servers.
