Independent and unofficial
GB WhatsApp is an enhanced third-party modified messaging client for Android. WhatsApp is a registered trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. This site is an independent technical documentation and distribution resource.
GB WhatsApp is a modified, third-party application created by independent developers. It is not an official WhatsApp release and is not distributed through Google Play.
Risks you should understand
- Account restrictions. WhatsApp's terms do not permit unofficial clients. WhatsApp has stated that accounts using them may be temporarily or permanently restricted.
- Security and privacy. Because the software is modified by third parties, you cannot assume the same security, privacy or end-to-end encryption guarantees as the official app. We cannot verify what any build does.
- No support. There is no official support for unofficial builds, and they can stop working without notice.
- Data loss. Installing, updating or moving between apps can result in lost chats. Back up first.
The official WhatsApp from Google Play is the safest-supported choice. Compare the options in GB WhatsApp vs WhatsApp.
